Dr Ruth Obaikol is the Director of the Academy for Health Innovations at the Infectious Diseases Institute (IDI). With a solid pedigree in infectious diseases, she has dedicated her career to strengthening health systems in Africa. At IDI, Ruth oversees programmes focused on prevention, care, and treatment, as well as research and training initiatives. Her work aims to improve health outcomes and advocate for policy and practice changes in Uganda and Africa. With a deep understanding of the challenges faced by People Living with HIV (PLHIV), Ruth is committed to ensuring that they receive quality care and support. Her expertise in health systems strengthening and research has led to numerous publications and presentations.
